Innovations presented at Achema 2018 are the result of an innovative internal project called AUTOMATION 2020 whose main goal is to identify the best technological solutions in automation, applying them as a standard to MG2 products.

The project involves innovation in hardware components and software platforms which allow us to obtain robust products with great performances and optimal usability.
We have presented three different machines involved in AUTOMATION 2020 project:

PLANETA capsule filling machine;

SELEKTA stand-alone check-weigher of capsules and tablets;

KARTOS intermittent motion cartoner

The AUTOMATION 2020 project is born with a further important goal which is to design a new HMI platform focused on the real needs of the operators that make a daily use of our processing & packaging machines.
Based on User Experience methodology, we started the path to innovation with a set of interviews to the end users, sketching of the concept, defining standards and reaching a unified HMI concept.
We introduced new concepts to HMI design, such as visual parameters access, visual interaction for alarms and guided process execution, following step by step the production processes.

Those innovations help the user in performing the process step-by-step, starting the production with intuitive configuration of the machine and accessing tools for easy diagnostic and validation of the process.
A remote-control access using connected devices of common use like a tablet or a smartphone is also available. One set of hardware solutions and one software development platform common for all technicians are a great benefit.

Full standardization, flexibility in resources, reduction of time in development and maintenance are only few of the benefits that can be obtained.
