State-of-the art
WEIGHT CONTROL SYSTEMS
A key contribution to the success of our capsule filling process has been given by the continuous improvement of our patented weight control systems.
All solutions share a unique goal: to verify that the exact quantity of product has been dosed into the capsule to protect the patient’s health.
Our
milestones in Quality &
Process Control
early 1970s
Manual sampling (NT)
1977
First in-real-time statistical system for standard dosage of powder, directly connected to the machine
1990
First net weight control system for low dosages of powder for inhalation applications
1996
First 100% in-process net weight control system of all filled capsules, integrated to the machine, with self-adjustment (NETT)
2008
First 100% in-process weight control system, suitable to check the net weight of powder low dosages (e.g.: 5 mg) and each product in case of dosing combinations (MultiNETT)
2024
New improved version of NETT weight control system (NETT EVO 3)
Today
And much more is coming …
A wide choice of systems is available on our capsule filling machines starting from manual sampling, statistical controls
up to 100% in-process net weight systems:
NT
manual sampling
eSWC
external statistical system to control the weight of filled capsules, with automatic dosing chambers adjustment. Capsules are sent to an analytical balance, which checks the gross weight and sends the relevant data to the capsule filler; then the system transmits the necessary feedback for the self-adjustment of the dosing chambers, thus allowing to keep the production always in target.
iSWC
integrated statistical system to control the weight of filled capsules, with automatic dosing chambers adjustment. This system has the same functionalities of eSWC, but it also shows a lean design inside the machine.
SNWC
statistical system to control the net weight of filled capsules, carried out by weighing the same capsule before and after it has been filled. This system has been specially designed for low dosages of powder for inhalation or DPI.
The system cyclically selects an empty capsule that is sent to a loading cell, weighed, and put back into production. After being filled with the product (e.g. 5 mg), the same capsule is weighed by a second loading cell.
NETT
100% in-process system to control the net weight of filled capsules, with automatic dosing chambers adjustment and automatic rejection of capsules out of the set range.
NETT is based on two capacitive sensors integrated in the machine process area: the first measures the empty capsule; the second measures the same capsule after it has been filled with the product.
Unlike a statistical system, NETT allows to automatically discard all the detected out-of-limit capsules (over or under-dosed), through a dedicated outlet, thus keeping the quality of the final production in target.
MultiNETT
100% in-process system to control the net weight of powder low dosages for inhalation or DPI, or each component filled into each capsule, in case of product combinations, with automatic adjustment of each dosing chamber and automatic rejection of capsules out of the set range.
In this system the capacitive sensors are located inside the MultiNETT discs, integrated with the dosing units, by allowing an even more accurate measurement.
In case of dosage combinations, MultiNETT expresses its maximum performance, because it measures each single product inside each dosed capsule.
